Quiet Mornings
Good morning from Kenya!
“Whenever the sounds of the world die out in the soul, or
sink low, then we hear these whisperings of God. He is always whispering to us,
only we do not always hear because of the noise, hurry, and distraction which
life causes as it rushes on. –Frederick

Today is a slow morning in the Brittney House. We are
anxiously awaiting the team and getting every last bit of silence in. I have
learned to love the quiet mornings, because that is where Christ is. He dwells
there to speak to his sinful children. To direct and lead them, and ultimately love
them. I see Christ here, in every experience. In the messy, noisy, play days
with the kids, and also in the still silence of the night when the power goes
out. Kenya you have left
footprints on my heart.
I will be back here. Whether its short term or long term…
how could I not? This is where my spirit thrives, this is what my heart longs
for. This is what the Lord created me to do. It is my favorite place in the
world.
Prayers for next week as we start the eye surgery team. We
will be very busy and work long nights, but in the mean time I get to love on
the people of Migori in the best way I know how… through health care.
“You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill
me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” –Psalm
16:11
