Tom
Not for one single day
Can I discern my way,
But this I surely know-
Who gives the day,
Will show the way,
So I securely go.
-
John Oxenham
“The Lord leads me beside quiet water, he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness for his names sake.” –Psalm 23:2-3
Today I am thankful for security. Thankful that no matter
what the day holds I can rest in the assurance that Christ has gone before me.
That He is constantly fighting a battle already celebrated as victorious. I am
thankful that my hope is found in Christ alone.
Today I want to write and tell you about my sweet Matoto
(baby) Tom. He has been at the orphanage a total of 12 days and came shortly
after I arrived. He is hilarious. He is wild, adventurous, and very social. He
is the epitome of joy. Unending joy.
Tom is a free spirit. He does whatever he wants at all times
of the day and sometimes I find him sneaking out of study time just to give me
a hug. He is crazy. The other day I was busy playing with the other kids when I
saw my matoto (baby) Tom running around the compound naked. It was bath time
and I guess he just wanted to take a lap real quick… so that is exactly what he
did. He laughed the entire run and made everyone at the compound burst into
laughter. He is a trip.
His smile is contagious and everything about his little
personality makes me laugh. I just love this kid and I don’t know how I am
going to leave him.
Tom, Ni Anakupenda! You are my matoto!
Be blessed today!
-Hannah
