Come to me in Thanksgiving

As the month of November roles around I felt it was important to write down what I am thankful for. At first I drew a blank and was suddenly astonished to realize I couldn't think of anything but the typical answers like my family. It wasn't until God revealed to me my need to feel "More Holy" then the other person that I was immediately humbled. God showed me every little thing I was thankful for, and allowed me to rejoice in the little things. Like the warmth of sweatpants and coffee on a cold fall morning. Or the light pink nail polish that makes me feel extra girly. Being thankful doesn't mean elaborating in great detail or picking out the most important things you think would sound "Godly". It is realizing the many gifts that the Lord has provided to an unworthy receiver. So as this Thanksgiving month begins I will remember all the many things I am thankful for.

1. The smell of a tyler candle on a fall day
2. the crisp air that hits my face while walking to class
3. the full moon on this beautiful night
4. true friendships
5. dark chocolate
6. my featherbed comforter
7. constant communication with my parents
8. love
9. God's perfect peace
10. fruit mentos

"Have the roots of your being firmly and deeply planted in Him, being continually built up in Him, becoming increasingly more confirmed and established in the faith, just as you were taught, and abounding and overflowing in it with thanksgiving." Colossians 2: 7
