Today is the Day
I cannot believe today is the day I will be boarding the plane for Nairobi, Kenya! The Lord has been calming my nerves throughout this training and allowed me to see him in a more intimate way. I am so ready to board the plane and embark on this journey with Anna Marie and Liz. God is truly sovereign in the way he details your life together... I have already had several instances where I am stuck thinking "WOW" and I haven't even boarded the plane yet.
One instance in particular made me really astonished at how the Lord details our lives together. I met a girl in orientation heading to Honduras that I struck up a conversation with. We began to talk about more personal things and then I was like what the heck might as well tell her my story. I told her about my panic attacks and anxiety throughout my younger years and also about my dream to be a medical missionary.. her jaw dropped and she immediately started tearing up. She said to me... "okay its my turn." She began to unwrap her life for me about her panic attacks through high school, middle school, and elementary school and how it had been a struggle everyday. And this is the really cool part... she told me how she just started nursing school (keep in mind a year late for personal reasons) and wanted to work over seas. We were immediately bonded for life and are going to keep in touch as we embark on this incredible journey. It is amazing how God can take the smallest of situations and remind you that he is in the midst of everything. I cannot wait to have more and more "AH HA" moments while I am in Kenya. Praise Jesus for his constant reminders about his great love for us!
During orientation we went to the Buckner Warehouse to help bind shoes to send to foreign countries. A great way to start our adventure. Me and my roomie, Anna Marie!

After an hour of loading crafts on top of crafts me and Anna Marie were able to stay underweight and fill our suitcases. It is going to be such a joy to see those babies enjoy these toys and crafts.
Amazing to find sisters going all over the world to spread the name of Jesus! Go Chi O!
Our last night of comfortable sleeping arrangements and not only did me and Anna Marie get our own beds but they were sleep number beds!
Wish me luck as I board the plane at 5:50! Prayers for safe travels and calmed nerves
love, Han
