New Life
It's Wednesday and I officially have 3 days left in Africa. It is a sad goodbye, but to keep ourselves from crying too much me, Anna Marie, and Liz have turned to laughter. The past couple days we have brought more joy and laughter out of eachother then I ever thought possible. I have found it to be true that laughter is the best medicine.
Today we made our way to the New Life Home. This was a place where babies who have been abandoned come to be taken care of. The majority of the babies are HIV positive and come after practically being on their death bed. The babies are severly under weight and have been dropped onto the street or hospital by there parents. Through this organization many adoptions take place and foster care is provided as well. I so enjoyed being able to hold and feed the babies today, and I couldnt help but feel called to adoption in the future.
At the New Life Home I met one baby in particular that stole my heart. His name was Xavier. He was 7 months old, but oculdnt have weighed more then 10 pounds. He was born severly premature and was given up by his mother. It brought me pure joy to be able to love on him and feed him this morning. I will never forget his cute smile that he worked so hard to produce.
The rest of the day was full of bargaining at the markets, eating meditteranean pizza, and soaking up the sun.
Thanks for a great day Jesus and for blessing me abundantly.
