Falling in Love
Today is Friday, June 22 and it is officially my last Friday
at the BCC. I never thought this day would come, and honestly never wanted it
to. It was my last day to work the baby clinic, my last day to lead bible
study, and my last day to give immunizations.
Depressing I know…. Part of me wants to think that life
stops when I leave Kenya. The people quit struggling, the poverty gets better….
But here is the heart breaking news… IT DOESN’T.
Life goes on… and the BCC will go on as usual after we
leave. The kids will continue to ask about us and continue to struggle from day
to day. This is the realization I have had to come to grips with.
Life is hard. People struggle.
In one week I will be home, getting home cooked meals, and
enjoying my family, but to be honest a part of my heart will stay here.
They say that one can leave Africa, but Africa can never
leave you. There is so much truth in that. These faces, these stories, and
these bonds I have formed will never be forgotten. My love for Africa, and
specifically Kenya grows more every minute.
Thank you Jesus for allowing me to fall in love with your
creation… and truly see through your eyes.
Today was a good day. I got to give around 10 immunizations
and serve the people in the Dandora slums. I got to hold precious angels and
tell 1st through 3rd graders how much Jesus loves them.
What more can you ask for in one day?
Every day, every hour, every minute is a miracle in Kenya.
In a week my physical body will go home but my heart will
stay here.
Enjoy the pics as things are wrapping up.

those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” - Romans 8:28
Hannah, Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us. It has been special for me and my girls to share it with you through your writing and pictures. Almost feel like we were there with you. We will continue to pray for you as your body leaves the place your heart loves. Can't wait to see you in a few months!
