Sunday: A Day of Rest

Sunday at the BCC is unlike any other. The kids have no music, minimal chairs, ripped bibles, but still praise Jesus as if they were in heaven! What a wonderful example of living life for Jesus.

Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me, look down, O Lord, to help me. -Psalm 39:14

This is one of my favorite verses the kids memorized and recited at church. There sweet voices are so pleasing to our Lord. It was a joy to be part of it.

In Kenya Sunday is known as a day of rest so that it exactly what we did. Rested and did laundry, rested and did laundry.

Doing laundry was so hilarious here. We do not have a washer or dryer so guess what? We get to hand wash. So I got to experience my first load of laundry done completely by hand. If you decide you want to live a Kenyan life style this is how to hand wash clothes:

1. plug sink
2. fill with hot water
3. put dirty clothes in hot water
4. put purex strip in the hot water
5. swish it around
6. let soak for approximately 5 minutes
7. rinse clothes with clean hot water
8. allow to drive for 48 hours

And there it is.... the 411 on hand washing clothes.

Now be aware that the clothes may not be completely clean, but hey it is good enough!

Thank you Jesus for teaching me how to live again! Thank you for this kids that bring my soul to life. Thank you for adopting us as your children. You are forever to be praised!

Love, Hannah
