6-18-12

Today is a bitter sweet Monday. Today marks the beginning of my last week at the BCC. The last week I get to tell those precious angels how much I love them, but more importantly how much God loves them. The last week I get pressured to take tea and eat for 12 in the kitchen. The last week I get to hear Mamma Shamilla mock my twang. The last week I get to hug on the babies and greet them with "Sa Sa". And it will be the last week I get to run up to Jackline and tell her she's my best girl.

Enough with the sappy stuff and lets move into how great today was because being honest none of us are promised tomorrow.

Today I got the honor and privilege of working with Agnus and Paul in the kitchen. Me and Anna Marie got mad blisters from cutting cabbage for an hour. Even though our hands were aching it was a joy to work for the Lord. Agnus and Paul prepare 3 meals a day and work hard every second. It is a blessing to be able to work with them.

The second part of the morning I got to make a craft with my babies class. Todays focus was Isaiah 64:8.... it reads: "Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand." So of course we had to use paint and make hand prints. Hey, we even jazzed it up with some glitter. The kids loved it and teacher Rose was so appreciative. I love working with these babies, their smiles are the highlight of my days. As soon as they see me they run up to me arms open screaming "Hannah, teacha Hannah". They they embrace so tight you start to loose feeling in your legs. Maybe this is an inclination on how we are to greet our heavenly father..... Arms open like a child running to their security. I love how God reveals things to me through these kids. He truly wants us to have a childlike faith.

Of course during the afternoon I had to visit my mammas, Evarlyn and Shamilla. And I couldn't go a day without giving at least one immunization. I end the day dancing and singing to a Kenyan worship song with Mamma Shamilla and Liz. Thank you Jesus for joy today.

"Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom."  -Psalm 145:3

"I used to think that God's gifts were on shelves one above the other, and that the taller we grew in christian character the easier we should reach them. I find now that God's gifts are on shelves on beneath the other, and that it is not a question of growing taller but of stooping lower, and that we have to go down, always down, to get His best gifts."
