I'm running to your arms
So I have decided to set a little goal for myself... to run a half marathon in April. I know what your thinking... "you run?" and the answer is YES! Well, I just started but I am working up to my goal. I have run 3 miles twice now and it feels great to be outside in the Lord's beautiful masterpiece. I am amazed at what the Lord is teaching me through running early in the morning. I would love to share a story about my first run that is hopefully encouraging to everyone.
As I walked out the door on my first day of training... I was completely freaked out. I thought there is no way in He- double hockey stick I am about to run my butt for 30 minutes. (lets keep in mind the longest I have ever run was 1 mile for the physical fitness test in middle school) As I began to run I felt a sense of freedom that I had longed for for such a long time. The type of freedom where nothing else mattered in the whole world but the next step I would take. As I began to approach a huge hill I was suddenly defeated. I thought there is no way I will make it up that hill, but then I remembered a few words my mother once told me about running... "dont look up"! I suddenly realized how much this pertained to faith. Looking at the end result will only make you feel overwhelmed but taking step by step will keep you focused and excited for what the Lord has in store.
So today I challenge you to take one step at a time and focus on what is in front of you. The Lord has so much in store for today and if you focus on the ultimate goal you will pass right by all the blessings of today. So focus on today for the Lord only gives us enough energy and strength for today!
In Him, Hannah
