ABUNDANCE

Over the past few weeks I have been overwhelmed with the amount of support from both friends and family. Everywhere I go someone asks how I am doing, what they can be praying for me about, and details about my trip. Although it can get exhausting I could not feel more blessed. The Lord has shown me an ABUNDANCE of love and support through others. One thing I wanted to blog about before I begin my great adventure this summer is about what I expect to get from blogging. One verse has stuck out to me as I have been praying through how to journal about my journey....Proverbs 27:17. This verse states, "Iron sharpens Iron, and one man shall sharpen another." This verse is a big part of my blog because I want to be held accountable. I want each of you to be part of my journey and help me to seek the Lord in every circumstance. That is why I am writing today to say that this blog is not a way for me to tell all the wonderful magnificent things about my trip (although there will be many), but I want this to be a place where I can be honest and tell yall the good, the bad, and the ugly. I want to be honest and admit my struggles throughout the trip, along with rejoicing about the celebrations. So here I am today to warn you that this is not just another feel good blog, but an honest interpretation of a girls journey to seek the Lord in a foreign country.

Prayers.... Today especially I want to pray about our safety in Kenya. Me, Anna Marie, and Liz have been praying about this for a while because of all the turmoil going on in the country right now. Pray that we would be secure in the Lord and face each task with strength and faith. Also pray for our health, that we would be able to get over the "jet lag" and endure the change in diet. I can not tell you how excited I am about being in Kenya in 1 week. It is still so surreal. Pray that I would be prepared and that my heart would be open to what the Lord has to teach me. Here we go..... 6 days and counting and I cannot wait!
