Reasons to Brag

¹⁵ Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.” 

In the world's standards... a life of success consists of performing excellence in your career, your relationships, and in what possessions you have. The world tells us to do more, earn more, and be more. But what does that mean?

What does it mean to perform excellence in all areas of your life? What does it mean to be God in your own life?

If we truly consider who we are.... do we really have a reason to brag? Do we  have a reason to brag on the sin that is prevalent in our lives? Absolutely not... in reality it is embarrassing..... 

When Christ came, he said that a life of abundance is HIM and only him. He told us that in this world we have a reason to brag, brag on the God who created us and is constantly molding us. We have a reason to be confident.... not in our own flesh but in the spirit of the Lord that reigns in us.

He came so that we could have life in abundance. He came so that we could be free from sin for eternity. He came so that the successes of this world would mean nothing in comparison to the God who saved us. He came so that I could live.... and guess what? He came so that you can live as well!

So in reality this world has nothing on the God who lives. The God who breathes life into my very being each morning. For God promises new mercies each morning. Praise him!

So today I brag...... I brag on my God who lives and breathes. I brag on the man who came to die in the most excruciating way so that I may live in freedom. 

Romans 1:16 says, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes..."
