HOME
After my first semester of junior year I am finally home. Home to the place that is so comfortable, the place where I feel so safe and secure, and the place where I am surrounded by people I love so dearly. This is my place. This is my Home.
Today so much importance is put on where you are from. Where your hometown is, and where your grew up. The most asked question I get asked in college is where are you from.... then I respond with "Huntsville", smile and make my way. What does this tell us about the world we live in?
We are so comfortable in our home. We put so much emphasis on going "home" from college, or going "home" for the holidays.
Jesus tells us in 2 Corinthians 4:18 that "we should fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." What if we approached the cross like we approached our home? What if we approached scripture with a feeling of security and comfort. Life would be drastically different.
What a comfort to know that christ longs for us to live in constant communion with him.
So for now I will continue to glorify the Lord as I pass through my temporary home. Awaiting the day I am greeted by my savior saying "Welcome Home!"
